I was debating b/e the titles of "Beeho Returns" or "I'm Fat." The prior reminded me of batman.
Since Saturday I've been meaning to update so I apologize. Anyways, here comes a long update.
Recap:
Last Sunday: Flew to Chicago for the Pittcon convention. A few months back I was excited for this but I instead dreaded going because of all the crap I had to study for in school and prepare applications for grad school. These were all due by sometime during that week.
Flight was delayed from 11:20 am to 1:55 pm due to bad weather in Chicago. The Captain reported other pilots could not see beyond a quarter mile. Yikes. Coincidentally, the Jazz game was on so I got to enjoy watching the second half at Squatters and drank a nice Utah ale of some sort. Note: I got to fly first class because when I bought tickets with skymiles the only seats left were 1st class. Woopee! Bigger seats, drinks and food.
At the Chicago Ohare Airport I took a leak in the bathroom and I saw this:
I wasn't sure how it works but I had an idea. However, I wasn't adventurous enough to figure it out.
I stayed at the Sheraton 4 Points hotel. It was nice for the basic 1 king bed I got. Free internet was a plus. That night I walked around a bit the blocks for food. I found this place called Pizzeria Uno and ordered the small deep dish chicago pizza. It took 1 hour to cook that sucker! So I did some wandering and grocery shopping. I bought 2 litre water bottles and some cookies. Then I picked up my pizza order to eat at the hotel. That thing is huge! Took me that night, the morning, and late afternoon to eat all of it. Delicious, it was.
Monday:
The Pittcon convention was huge. I was at a different chemical convention last September and it was small in comparison to Pittcon. I did my stuff but I wasn't really focused on it. All my focus was towards getting my essay completed for applications for schools.
Got to and left the convention by provided charter buses. During the rides I was reminded how the underground roads looks so much like scenes from the Dark Knight (filmed in Chicago fyi). Cleaned up at the hotel and my friend came by and took me around town.
Here are some pics:
This is the John Hancock Center Building:
We went up to the 96th floor of that building and got a great view of the city:
Other pictures while we were walking around to our dinner destination:
My buddy took me to this Japanese Sushi/South American fusion restaurant.
Pretty interior designing (poor picture quality. sry!)
The food was even better! ( These were both the dishes for both my friend and me. I'm not that gluttonous!)
Mine:
His:
Ok. So we went all out and got this nice fondue dessert. OK OK...Yes, we are gluttonous....
Pics I took on our way back to the hotel:
Huge McDonalds:
On the way back my buddy said I had to make it a priority to eat at this place next to the Mcdonalds where they serve Italian beef sandwiches. So I did just that the next afternoon before I left for the airport on Tuesday. Pretty delicious.
So that's pretty much it. I did enjoy the free time I had over there. Just wish I had more.
Now for the current news:
It's spring break. I'm doing hw. I'm relaxing. Even went back to the gym tonight after a few weeks of slacking off. I got dizzy after working out but decided to push on the treadmill. During my absence at the gym I've noticed that I've been getting zits and stuff way more frequently. Disgusting...I have to find a way to schedule in regular gym time when school continues next week.
Long post that took me awhile to make. G'night.

Chicago!
I hate the airport there. We seriously spent like 4 hours there... waiting for a connecting flight. Because obviously we need a 4 hour stopover from SLC before we can take a 30 minute flight to Detroit.
Wow that looked like so much fun. Wish i could just travel and wander everywhere. Thanks for posting the pics! hopefully one day we'll do that group road trip we used to talk about.
when i went to Chicago i also took a picture of the toilet.
they're odd, arent they?
